After mentioning my new Canadian favorite in last weeks FF, I had to follow up with patronage this week, for Foxes in Fiction is simply darling. Warren Hildebrand has been recording strangely beautiful ( Ambient, Indie-pop, Experimental) music since a young age. After dropping out of art school, he now pursues his musical passions via his home studio in Toronto. His self titled debut album was released in February of this year, and has been popping up on blogs left right and center ever since. Similar to Memoryhouse, The Townhouses, Blackbird Blackbird, etc.
So if you're freezing your ass off in your home like I am, cozy up to some Foxes in Fiction.

Some kind of melodic and glittering sound is emanating from the land down under, it sounds like the first snowfall in December. This Australian artist is known better asThe Townhouses. He creating something beautiful in the form of a four EPs released in 2009. Shortly after that 'Islands' was released, compiling the best of the EPs into a debut LP If you are a fan of Evenings, LAKE R▲DIO, or Foxes in Fiction, you're bound to fall right into this post, like it were a drift of snow. FF: Is Tropical

The weather here is still so moderately warm :/ (well for this time of year at least) so what time is better than now for Is Tropical. Their current single 'South Pacific' has me in it's sunnyside grasp. The high pitched synth notes, solid snare kick kick snare is simply hypnotic. Even their use of 8 & 16bit influences is magical and very retro new wave. The video is also a splendor to see. Such vibrant, lo-fi, bass heavy, synth-pop genius could only hail from London, England. Their LP is schedules for early 2011, and I await it with little patience.

FF: Shigeto

The bassey, ambient, trip-hop, that is Shigeto, was first introduced to me via his remix of Tycho's 'Adrift'. I used to play this at work all the time in fact, for I'm a huge fan of Tycho (similar to Boards of Canada if you're unfamiliar). Then I was reintroduced to Shigeto via my friend Kasha T (thanks brolady). His hypnotic reworks of samples and textured beats is simply astonishing. Very reminiscent of a Vancouver winter for me. Zach Shigeto Saginaw drew his middle name as his playing card for the vividly beautiful project he undertook. It was the name of his grandfather, and an homage to the other half of his heritage. Being raised in Michigan, where his youthful influences were of the land he grew up on, he expanded to adopt a little more of the life he knew less of. He began to delve into ghostly ancient accents within his music, but still keeping that Mo-town rhythm. You might find this similar to Flying Lotus, Nujabes, or Mount Kimbie.

FF: LAKE R▲DIO

Warm weather back in my life!! It's great! Significantly enough I also came across LAKE R▲DIO. A mish-mash of ambience, chillwave/glo-fi, down-temp, and even a little bit of hip-hip beat. So I guess it's better known as experimental. You might find this similar OoOOo, or even Salem. There are 3 ep's in circulation (and available for freebs on LR's Bandcamp) both of which I highly recommend. The pet project of 19 yr old Caden Moore, and Illinois native. As Last.fm stated, this was originally a darker exploration through music along with himself, which I find significantly fascinating. Check out my fave tracks thus far!

I had burned a bunch of mixtapes onto cds as backups because I'm currently repping a generation 1 pink iPod mini.... yeah, that's right 4gbs. Ugh, so difficult, only keeping what I want to listen to at that time on it. Considering my iTunes library contains over 50gbs of myoozak, it's getting increasingly difficult. :( I really hope I can get an iPhone soon, or mb by some act of god find/win/receive an iPod.

FF: Baths

I first heard the beauty of Baths via Stadium & Shrines Random Rainbow vol.2 compilation. Then again in the Heart Music Group compilation. The track from this compilation, 'Nordic Laurel', is what struck me the most. Absolutely perfect chillwave experimental electro. Will Wiesenfeld from Los Angeles has managed to capture the romantical whimsical essence The Postal Service and mix it up with the modern dreamy craze of Teen Daze. If you can find it
